SERIOUSLY, WHY DETROIT?
It has the largest Middle Eastern population in the
nation, second largest in the world! These are
dancers approved by that audience.

IS IT SAFE?
The event is actually in lovely upscale Ann Arbor. The
downtown Ann Arbor area is a few miles from the convention
with lots of hip shops and restaurants. And if you want to go
venture off in Detroit, just take precautions that you would in
any city.

How is this convention different?
Each instructor is a professional performing dancer. These are
the dancers who work week after week for Middle Eastern

Why haven't I heard of all these dancers before?
Because the dancers in Detroit are so busy working, they don't even have
time to promote.
These are dancers hired night after night by Middle
Eastern audiences
. Some of the well-known dancers perform up to
8 shows a weekend during peak seasons.

Why are you hosting this convention?
There are SO many workshops and conventions nationwide & the
economy stinks. So, we decided to create the highest quality convention
possible by teachers who are actually working perfomers - truly
experienced professional dancers. And, it's cheap. We want you to have
fun, but not go broke!

How cheap?
You can get a nice hotel room for $60 a night. And flights are cheap! Or
drive here, parking is free and ample!

What styles of dance will be taught:
Cabaret, Turkish, Egyptian, Lebanese, Macedonia, Algerian, and yes
there will be Tribal! Plus Aerial Yoga, Fire spinning and contact juggling
and a lot more. You can even have a photo session! Check out the
class
menu.

Aren't there other conventions in the midwest?
Yes, but this is the only one taught purely by today's professional
performers.

Where are the dancers from?
All are from Detroit with a few guest teachers from New York, Ohio, Philly
and the legendary Aida is from San Francisco, but now resides here. One
of the mothers of this dance - a true pioneer. Without her, bellydance
today wouldn't exist as we know it.

Is there going to be a dance competition?
Yes. See the Competition page for the rules!

Can I dance in the show?
On Friday there are two shows. First is the Rising Star Competition. After
that. Participants in the weekend workshop will participate in the show.
On Saturday, the convention teachers will perform for you!
